Caught Napping

Caught Napping is a three-act comedy play set at Lakeview School by Geoffrey Lumsden and was first presented in 1959 at the Piccadilly Theatre, London.

The play revolves around a schoolboy's end-of-year prank.

Performance history in South Africa

May 1 - 5, 1962. Presented by The Grey Players (Scholars at the Grey High School) in the De Waal Hall, Port Elizabeth. Produced by Jacques van Onselen.

Cast included Beresford Jobling (Wellington Potts - housemaster), Anthony Farr (Henry), Colin Kruger (Mabel), Glynn Woodin (Jill Potts - Daughter), Eldon Swallow (Gertrude Potts - Wife), Allen Duff (Dr Rodd - Headmaster), Peter Kingston (Matron), Jeffrey Ilsley (Gordon Wilding - assistant master), Trevor Kennelly (Laker-Hopp - schoolboy), John Gardner (Archie d'Arcy - bookmaker), Conal d'altera turner (Talky), Geoffrey Allen (Maj-Gen Sir Francis-Francis Carmichael), Geoffrey Comley) (Lady Carmichael).

All the dramatis personae were scholars at the boys-only school.
