John Springett (circa 1919-2002). Actor and former drama producer for the SABC's English Services.

Biography

He died in Cape Town in January 2002 at the age of 82.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He has appeared on stage in Double Indemnity and Whose Life is it Anyway? and he directed Wholly Matrimony. The English-born actor's last stage role was in the 1999 production of As You Like It at Maynardville. He gave a superb performance as Adam, the octogenarian servant of the Duke.
