Goddess of Song is a solo play by Charles J. Fourie depicting the life and times of Florence Foster Jenkins (1868-1944), an American amateur operatic soprano who was known—and ridiculed—for her lack of rhythm, pitch, and tone; her aberrant pronunciation; and her generally poor singing ability.
1999: Backdoor Productions, with Carolyn Lewis, National Arts Festival and in the Nico Arena in August.
