Roel Twijnstra is a theatre director for theatres, festivals and drama departments.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Since 2013 he has been living in South Africa, lecturing at UKZN in Durban and Pietermaritzburg and directing adaptations of African novels.

He is the founder of Twist projects. TWIST focuses on development of community theatre groups in KZN.

Since 2014 he and his artistic partner, Jerry Pooe, have operated as ”Executive Producers” under the name Thambo Theatre Producers.
