Doreen Lamb (19**-) Actress.


Biography

Doreen was born in South Africa.


Youth

Training

She studied music and drama. She later went to America to study stage, TV and film technique at the New York University.


Career

She joined the SABC in Durban. She then went abroad for further study and appeared as guest artist on NBC television in New York. She played the parts of the Widow in The Widow in the Bye Street and Mabel in The Light Within in London’s West End. She has worked on BBC television and has made recordings for HMV with Vivien Leigh and Cecily Courtneidge. She returned to South Africa in 1962. She played the part of Connie Labuschagne in the television series The Villagers which ran from 1976 to 1978.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Performed in Eureka and Fanny.

She played in Ring Round the Moon (PACT 1964.).
