by S.E. Hudson. A scenario for a comic opera, lampooning the officials at the Cape at odds with sir George Yonge. Also known as The New Opera, while F.C.L. Bosman has the title as He Wou'd Be A Governor.
It is a text contained in The Diary of Samuel Esuibuis Hudson Chief Clerk in the Customs, Cape Town 1798-1800, which is held by the SA Library. Gosher gives a date of 1861 to the text.
