Victor McLaglen (10 December 1886 – 7 November 1959) was an English boxer and First World War, veteran who became a successful film actor.
Born Victor Andrew de Bier Everleigh McLaglen in the East End of London. The family moved to South Africa when he was a child and on these grounds he has long been claimed as a South African actor, by locals.
However he actually left his home and the country when he was fourteen and never returned, ending up a successful Hollywood star, even becoming a naturalised U.S. citizen towards the end of his life.
