Productions

Their originally scripted productions combine the oral story-telling tradition with classic mime to achieve a satiric/comic story-telling form. The first production in 1987 was No easy Walk, created in collaboration with Maciek Schejbal; this won the Pick of the Fringe Award at the Standard Bank National Arts Festival in 1987. The Ugly Noo Noo earned five South African awards and two others at the Edinburgh Festival in 1988/89. Thing?, commissioned by the 1820 Settlers Foundation for the 1990 Grahamstown Festival was directed by Janice Honeyman and performed with The Handspring Puppet Company. In 1991 Between the Teeth and The Ugly Noo Noo were awarded the AA Vita/Tonight! Award for comedy. Bloodstream, created and performed by Andrew Buckland and Lionel Newton, won 4 South African theatre awards in 1992, and a Scotsman Fringe First at Edinburgh in 1993.
