Der Schneider und Sein Sohn is a German comedy by Franz Fuss (also written Franz Fusz, Franz Fuß and Franz I Fuss)

The original text
First performed in the Kaiserliche Königliche Private Theater, Vienna, 1776, and published in the same year, with the author given as "Franz I Fuss" and the text available from the Logenmeister, 1776.
Performed in the Churfürstl. Theater in München and published in 1777, the author now identified as Franz Fuss (or Franz Fuß, depending on the version).
Translations and adaptations
Translated into Dutch as De Snyder en Zyn Zoon (also known as De Snijder en Zijn Zoon) by an unknown author and performed in Dordrecht in 1881(?). Published in Dordrecht, by Frederik Wanner, 1781/1785 and later also in Dordrecht: Abraham Blussé, "voor het tooneellievend genoodschap" in 1785.
Performances in South Africa
1808: Performed in the African Theatre, Cape Town, by a local Dutch amateur company, with De Dragonder te Thionville (Bourlin Dumaniant).
