Major Birkenhead Glegg (17**- 18**)was a member of the garrison at Cape Town and an amateur actor.
He was one of the original 24 shareholders to whom a section of the Boereplein was donated for the puporse of building a theatre. This became The African Theatre.
As an actor he played "Carmine" in
