The Night of the Iguana [1] is a 1961 play by American playwright Tennessee Williams (1911-1983) [2].

Based on a short story of the same name wrtitten by Williams in 1948.
Translations and adaptations
Performance history in South Africa
Directed by Leonard Schach, performed by the Cockpit Players (then known as Leonard Schach Productions) in Johannesburg, as well as Cape Town. Cast members included Siegfried Mynhardt, Diane Wilson, Margaret Inglis, Kerry Jordan, Michael McGovern, Bill Brewer, Paddy Canavan, Marjorie Gordon, Yossi Graber and Estelle Kohler. It was staged at the Playhouse in Johannesburg on the 19th of July, 1962 and was the first performance of this play outside the U.S.A. It was also the last production by the Cockpit Players.
