Fiela's Child - The Musical is a 1999 musical play written and composed by Ian von Memerty.

Based on the novel Fiela se Kind (Fiela’s Child) by Dalene Matthee.

Performance history in South Africa

Premièred in May 1999 in a CAPAB production in the Nico Malan Theatre, directed by Mark Graham, with Paul Lückhoff, Judy Ditchfield (Barta van Rooyen), Marcel van Heerden, Juliana Venter, Robyn Scott (Malie), Farouk Valley-Omar, Siobhan Hodgson and Jason Ralph.

Staged at The Civic in July 1999, directed by Mark Graham, Ian von Memerty and Angerie van Wyk with Chris Vorster, Judy Ditchfield, Linda Alexander, Farouk Valley-Omar, Siobhan Hodgson, Justin Rodrigues, Lukas van Rooyen, Jason Ralph and Juliana Venter.

Staged in 2011 and 2012 by the Port Elizabeth Gilbert and Sullivan Society at the Savoy Theatre in Port Elizabeth, directed by Robin Williams, with Donna Africa (Fiela), Kelly-Leigh Mucka, Neil Leachman, Herbie Clayton, Jason Humm, Werner Viljoen, James van der Merwe and Kasvia von Memerty. Musical direction by Neil Leachman, lighting design by David Limbert and sound design by Brendon Samuels and Neil Thomson.
