Founded by Henry Goodman in 1976?*, based in Cape Town but intended to tour the Western Cape with shows ranging from drama to comedy to street theatre – and the very beginnings of industrial theatre. Before anyone had heard the term – took improvised plays into the workplace where audiences were invited to take part to solve problems. Members included Shirley Johnston, ** Not to be confused with The Roundabout Theatre Company , a leading non-profit theatre company based in New York City founded in 1965 [1].
Their production of Kafka’s Metamorphosis, directed by Richard E. Grant and Mike O’Brien and starring Steven Berkoff, Henry Goodman, Fiona Ramsay and Ian Roberts was staged at the Market Theatre in 1980.
