The original text

Based on a French original by J.A. Jacquelin (apparently itself a parody Voltaire's five act tragedy, Tancrède), and published in Amsterdam by Pieter Johannes Uylenbroek, in 1799.

1823: Performed in Dutch by Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense in the African Theatre, Cape Town theatre as on 20 March, with Het Geweten (Iffland).
