First performed as at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on January 25 1832, and and published by C. Chapple, London in the same year.

Performance history in South Africa
1854: Performed as The Rent-Day on 5 June in the Garrison Theatre by the Garrison Players and some local Amateurs, with The Spitalfields Weaver (Bayly) and The Queen’s Horse (Anon).
