He was a resident of Mowbray, Cape Town, called an "excellent low comedian" by Laidler (1926, p54).
His contribution to South African Theatre
Performed on occasion for the Garrison Players, inter alia specifically mentioned in
The Bloomer Costume(Stirling) on 2 May 1854; The Spitalfields Weaver on 5 June, 1854;
He also appeared in productions by the Lycett's Company, inter alia in Richard III (1849/1850?).
