Originally the title of a satirical play by Mike van Graan (2007), it became the generic name of a series of four satirical plays written by Van Graan and produced by MVG Productions. The title of the original play was changed to fit in with the series, which consists of: .

Bafana Republic 2: Extra Time (2008)
Bafana Republic 3: Penalty Shootout (2009)
Bafana Republic 4: Final Whistle (2010)
