The title of an English version of the German play Die Spanier in Peru oder Rollas Tod by Richard Brinsley Sheridan, adapted from the original tragedy in five acts by Augustus von Kotzebue (1796). The title is sometimes also used as a shorthand for other versions of the play in Dutch, English and so on.
