The Boy Friend is a 1953 musical by Sandy Wilson. A pastiche of 1920’s music. (Sometimes misspelled The Boyfriend).

Often produced in South Africa. The first production was at the Brooke Theatre in May 1957, directed by Sandy Wilson, starring Ivan Berold, June Hern, Shirley Hepburn, Maureen Adair and Bruce Anderson with sets and costumes by Pamela Lewis and Heather MacDonald-Rouse, and musical direction by Gertrude Walsh.
Directed by Noël Roos for University Theatre Stellenbosch in the H.B. Thom Theatre in October 1980, starring, among others, Natalia de Rocha and Joanie Combrink.
Staged by the Port Elizabeth Gilbert & Sullivan Society in 1981.
