First performed in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in 1815. Published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1815.

Performance history in South Africa
A production in Cape Town by the English Amateur Company was planned for 11 September 1837, but for a number of reasons postponed a few times and finally performed 18 September 1837, in the Cape Town Theatre, as afterpiece to Bertram, or The Castle of St. Aldobrand (Maturin).
