A stage play and a film, written by Reza de Wet.

The stage play

This is an English translation by De Wet of her original Afrikaans play Diepe Grond.


The English version was first staged, as African Gothic, at the Arcola Theatre in London in August 2011, directed by Naomi Wirthner, with Jane Gwilliams, Gil Sutherland, Naomi Wirthner and Gary Wright.

The film

A feature film based on African Gothic was produced by Damon Shalit and directed by Gabriel Bologna in 2012.
