A comedy in one act, by Louis Anseame (1721-1784), with music by Duny.
First performed by the Comédiens, Italiens Ordinaires du Roi, on 24 July, 1766.
Published in paris by Duchesne in 1771.
South African performances
1805: First performed in the original French on 30 September 1805 in the African Theatre, Cape Town by the French Company founded by Villet in the African Theatre, with Mr Delémery as "Nicodéme" . The other plays performed are La Meunière De Gentilly (Lemonnier) and La Mariage Forcé (Molière).
