Subject
Based on Drum writer William ‘Bloke’ Modisane's autobiography Blame Me on History (1963). Bloke Modisane was one of South Africa’s leading black intellectuals of the 1950s and 1960s and this musical was a celebration of his genius.
Bloke (1994) was a musical play directed by Walter Chakela, based on Drum writer William ‘Bloke’ Modisane's autobiography Blame Me on History and scripted by Mothobi Mutloatse. Bloke Modisane was one of South Africa’s leading black intellectuals of the 1950s and this musical was a celebration of his genius.
