Also known as Isabelle Cordier-Steenkamp. (19**-) Afrikaans journalist and actress. Married agricultural journalist Jabuz Steenkamp and settled in the Cape as journalist, inter alia working for the journals Huisgenoot and Sarie. She also wrote a number of short stories.
Her first professional role as stage actress was that of the maid in André Huguenet's production of Geleende Vere in 1944. The play toured for 6 months. This experience led to a liffe-long love of theatre and she later became a founding member of the Kaapse Afrikaanse Toneeelgeselskap (K.A.T. and participated in many stage and radio productions over the years.
