BOOTH, Webster. (21 January 1902-1984) Famous lyric tenor, born in England. His first appearance was in Yeoman of the Guard for the D'Oyly-Carte Opera Company in Brighton in 1924. His first appearance in London was in The Three Musketeers in 1930. He and his wife Anne Ziegler made over 800 recordings over the years and were espcially renowned for light opera, e.g. Friml's The Vagabond King. They toured South Africa in 1948 and then returned to settle in 1956.
