Originally known simply as Die Kleinteater (= The Little Theatre), it was the theatre ultimately built for Volksteater in 19**, though not to the originally proposed plans. Situated in Skinner Street, it was from the start owned by the Transvaal Education Department and later used by the students of the Pretoria Educational College, it hosted the finals of the annual Administrator’s Cup Competition for many years. Also used as one of the venues for the annual Kampustoneel Festival in the 1980s. (See Gosher, 1988) [TH, JH]
