Honor Edmonds was an amateur actor who was trained at Elsie Fogarty's School of Dramatic Art in London. On her arrival in Port Elizabeth she taught at Collegiate Girls' High School. Later she moved to Johannesburg and practised with Irene Holloway. She then moved to the Eastern Cape and worked at the Grahamstown Training College where she was a lecturer in speech training and dramatic art for three years. During her tenure there she produced many concert works. One of her major productions while at the College was Alcestis. She also took the lead in Will Jamieson's production of Hay Fever. In 1946 she returned to Port Elizabeth.
