The original text
“Interlude at a Bus Stop” is about a man and a girl who meet at the bus stop, where he picks her up, with the suggested possibility of a relationship arising from this. The ending, however, has a twist, as he is married and drives past the stop with cruel compassion. Published by Human & Rousseau in the collection Sewe Stasies en Ander Hoorspele (1983 and 1986).
