The Chamber Orchestra of South Africa (COSA) was founded in 2000 when a number of ex-players of the New Arts Philharmonic Orchestra of Pretoria (NAPOP) players formed a Section 21 Company. Since 2002, the orchestra has been based at the University of Pretoria and operates on a part- time basis.
