Lloyd was a singing lecturer at Rhodes University.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Together with her husband, Anton van der Merwe, Gwyneth Lloyd founded Starways Arts Centre (and the Starways Rose Theatre) in Hogsback in 1991.
In 1995, Gwyneth Lloyd founded EastCape Opera Company.
Lloyd researched and wrote the libretto to the opera, Temba and Seliba with composer Bongani Ndodana-Breen.
Awards
Lloyd is a Nederburg Opera Prize-winner.
