Danie Odendaal (19**-), actor.

Danie Odendaal (1947-2024), television writer and producer

Biography

Born on the East Rand and matriculated there. He studied at the University of Stellenbosch, the Sorbonne and Trinity College, Cambridge.

He was married to actress and director Annie Basson.

He passed away in Langebaan on 31 October, 2024.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He is the owner of the production company Danie Odendaal Produksies and, with Annie Basson, the producer of 7de Laan. He was also the scriptwriter and/or director for television and film productions such as the TV series Saartjie and Dennekruin 12, the film Galery, Die Man met 'n Lyk om sy Nek, Beelde, Okavango: The Wild Frontier, Veldslag and Netwerk.
