The Soweto Arts and Culture Festival (SACF) is a festival to showcase work of emerging artists from previously disadvantaged communities.
The festival
Founded by Thabo Konopi as a community development project, curated by the National Arts and Culture Development Foundation (www.nacdf.org.za), the aim is to create employment and assist artists across various disciplines to showcase and market their works. The festival seeks to promote social cohesion through economic empowerment and skills development initiatives for artists from previously disadvantaged communities. This event also serves as an opportunity to preserve and celebrate our rich and diverse South African arts, culture and heritage.
