Fanus Bothma (-2024) was a journalist, publicity agent and amateur theatre-maker.

Biography

He studied drama at the University of Pretoria, after which he joined PACT. Leaving there, he worked for Oggendblad as sub-editor, going on to do a degree in Communication before joining Telkom as publicity officer.

Contribution to theatre, film media and performance

After his retirement he devoted himself to his real interest: the performing arts. Among other things he became a member of the The Milnerton Players and created the publishing house Ebenezer-uitgewers.

Among many things he translated William Gibson's The Miracle Worker as Die Wonderwerk .
