Leo Théron (1926-2010)[1] was one of the leading exponents of the stained-glass medium in South Africa.

Biography
Born in Pretoria, Theron had a degree in Fine Arts from Rhodes University (1947) and an Honours Degree in Fine Arts (cum laude).
He developed a deep interest in monumental art, specialising in mural painting, and had several opportunities to study fresco and glass work in France and Italy. From this he went on to execute numerous commissions for churches, schools, public buildings and performance spaces.
He passed awa ay ib 2010.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Through his friendship with the Cape Town architect, he was given a commission to design and execute a large mosaic for the entrance foyer of the Bellville Civic Theatre.
