The US Woordfees (Lit. "Word Festival") is an Afrikaans festival
Also known as the Afrikaanse Woordfees, often simply Die Woordfees or even Woordfees alone. On occasion the name of the sponsor is added (e.g. the Toyota US Woorfees)
The festival
Founded at the University of Stellenbosch ("US") Stellenbosch in 2000 on the initiative of Dorothea van Zyl to promote the written and spoken word in Afrikaans.
