The Cape Town Symphony Orchestra (CTSO) was an orchestra in Cape Town.
History
In an effort to revitalize the orchestra, the Cape Town Municipal Orchestra changed its name to the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra (CTSO) in 1969.
In 1993, The CAPAB Orchestra was renamed the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO). The CPO merged with the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra (CTSO) in 1997, becoming the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CTPO). The CTPO closed in 2000. A new orchestra was formed, under the older title of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO).
