Ain't Misbehavin' is a musical by Fats Waller.

The original play

Inspired by the catchy song "Ain't Misbehavin'", described as "a 1929 stride jazz/early swing song", written by Andy Razaf (lyrics) and music by Thomas "Fats" Waller and Harry Brooks for the Broadway musical comedy play called Connie's Hot Chocolates [1].

Performance history in South Africa

1990: Presented by Pieter Toerien and NAPAC, starring Sam Marais, Natalia da Rocha, Sophia Foster, Abigail Kubeka and Basil Appolis at the André Huguenet Theatre and opening 7 March at the Theatre on the Bay. Directed by Geoffrey Sutherland.

2001: Performed at Downstairs at the Wits Theatre by Drama students under the direction of Fred Hagemann and Greg Homann. Musical direction by Tim Hyslop.

2006: The Market Theatre ended its 30th Anniversary Year in 2006 with this show, with Tsepho Mngoma as musical director.
