Joernaal van Jorik ("Journal of Jorik") is an Afrikaans epic poem in five parts by D.J. Opperman
Literary historian J.C. Kannemeyer () broadly summarises the poem as follows: it is set in the Second World War and tells the story of Jorik, who arrives in Cape Town as a spy on board on a submarine. He gets to know the country and its people, the variety of its landscapes and the many contrasts, getting entangled in in the political situation and way of life in South Africa.
