Martie Preller () is an Afrikaans teacher, author, scriptwriter and playwright.
Born in Potchefstroom, she attended school at Laerskool Mooirivier and Hoërskool Gimnasium there, before completing a BA with English and Latin as majors (cum laude, 1969) and a Teacher's diploma (cum laude, 1970) at the University of Potchefstroom. Later also qualified in Psychology (BA Unisa, 1988-1990; RAU 1991). 1971-1972: Hoërskool Gimnasium, Potchefstroom (Latyn & Engels) 1973: Hoërskool Fakkel, Johannesburg (Latyn & Engels) 1974: Hoërskool Randburg, Randburg (Engels) (een kwartaal) Privaat Engels- en Latynklasse
