Michael Albertus Smit (fl. 1930s-1970s) was a teacher and author.

He is also known by his pseudonym, Antonius

Biography

He studied at the University of Stellenbosch, obtaining a Higher Diploma in Primary Education in 1926.

Besides the play mentioned below, he also wrote a novel, Westewinde oor Skaars-van-Als]] (1969) as M.A. Smit.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Wrote the play Koning Saul (1949) under the pseudonym Antonius.
