Bruid in die Môre ("Bride in the Morning") by Hugo Claus. A hugely successful first play by the premier Flemish playwright of the late 20th century. Translated into Afrikaans by Jan Rabie and produced by NTO in its NTO Kamertoneel in 1959, directed by Tone Brulin. In 199* Claus visited South Africa, at the invitation of the University of Stellenbosch and the Flemish Festival – on which occasion the Drama Department at Stellenbosch produced the play with students, directed by Johan Esterhuizen.
