John Cartwright is a scholar, teacher and academic administrator, as well as a creative writer and performing artist.
Biography
He studied at the University of Cape Town and Oxford University,
He has had many years of experience as teacher, researcher and administrator in universities in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada. Since 2001 he has been working on innovative projects in community policing and is currently a Research Fellow at the Global Risk Governance programme at the University of Cape Town.
He was for a short while a lecturer in English at the University of Stellenbosch (from 1965 to **) and in that period performed in plays put on at the University by the student association as well as the Drama Department.
