Adriaan Meyer (198*-). Playwright, director, theatre critic.

Biography

He is the son of the Afrikaans writer Riana Scheepers. Adriaan studied at the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department in the 2000s, completing Adriaan Meyer a B.A. Honnours degree there, specializing in playwrting and directing.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Theatre work

While at University he wrote a short play called Is Boos! (subtitled Meyer Versus) as an exercise for the creative writing module.

He wrote the text and directed Prinsloo Versus, for which he was awarded the Jong Kanna for best performance in student theatre at the KKNK, 2004. Other plays include Die Kind (a free adaptation of two stories by P.G. du Plessis),
