The Plaza Kinema, Johannesburg
An art deco cinema seating 816 people, designed by the firms Kallenbach, Kennedy and Furner and Greatbach and Timlin for Kinemas Limited, completed 1928. It has since been demolished.

The Plaza Theatre, Johannesburg
A Modern Movement style movie theatre designed by Stanley Furner and opened in 1931. ** PLAZA, The, Johannesburg. Situated in Rissik Street. ACT brought out Sir Edmund Hillary to give lectures at the Plaza in 1955.
