The surname Brougham occurs in various guises in was a British actor.
Listed as "John Brougham" in the Index to F.C.L. Bosman's 1980 study, though this is uncertain, since some of Bosman's references are to someone simply referred to as Brougham, while others are clearly to the prominent 19th century Irish-American playwright John Brougham (1814-1880)[1], whose plays were often performed in South Africa.

Biography
A person referred to as Brougham visited Cape Town, Grahamstown and Port Elizabeth in 1873, as part of Disney Roebuck's touring company. Usually simply billed as Brougham, he started out in small supporting roles, and gradually progessed to more substantial roles, e.g.
