Biography
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He was the co-founder and leader of a company generally referred to as The Bowmers was the name usually given to a company of singers and performers, led by Mr Bowmer and Madame Bowmer, and including Miss Whitfield, that performed occasionally in Cape Town in the years 1863-1864. The name of a Mr Schilling is mentioned as pianist. He and his wife were apparently also the creators of a "Dialogue Entertainment", in Two Parts, entitled Retaliation, or Tit for Tat
