An active member of Kaapstadse Afrikaanse Toneelvereniging in Cape Town, he was responsible for the stage-management of many of their productions. On many occasions he also performed in these productions.
Since 1935 he served in the K.A.T. management as treasurer or in other capacities for a number of years.
