Married Temple Hauptfleisch in 1968. Mother of IT Company director Anzel Mercker and theatre director/writer Gaerin Hauptfleisch. She served on the editorial staff of the South African Theatre Journal as subscriptions manager for almost twenty years (1992-2011).
