At Magdalen, he was involved in the interview process, and, at Cambridge, for several years, he interviewed undergraduate applicants to Clare College and Murray Edwards College.

Jean Meiring (19**-)is an academic, lawyer, author, arts critic and playwright

Born in Stellenbosch, the son of Eben Meiring, he completed a Law degree from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and Oxford University and is an advocate at the Johannesburg Bar.

Previously, he taught at Oxford and Cambridge. At the former, he was a College lecturer at Magdalen College, teaching Roman Law.
