Nos Intimes! is a French comedy in four acts by Victorien Sardou (1831-1908)[1].

The original text
First performed at the Théâtre du Vaudeville, Paris on 16 November, 1861 and published by Michel Lévy Frêres, Paris, in 1862.
Translations and adaptations
The play was popular and often translated into English, under varying titles, e.g. Friends or Foes? by Horace Wigan in 1862, Our Friends by George March in 1872 and Peril by "Saville Rowe" (Clement Scott ) and "Bolton Rowe" (B.C. Stephenson, 1839-1906[2]) in 1876.
Performance history in South Africa
1887: Peril, the English by "Saville Rowe" and "Bolton Rowe", was performed as part of the repertoire of the Wheeler Theatre Company when they played in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town during April and May. Probably directed by Sutton Vane, who also played the lead, opposite Annie Baldwin.
